THE MISSION OF PROTON IS FACILITATE THE ACCESS TO CLEAN ENERGY TO EVERYONE
Challenge
The emission of greenhouse gases (GHG) generates worldwide damage for human health and the ecosystem. CO2 emissions increase at a rate of 2.1% annually, currently the average concentration level is 400ppm according to WMO (World Meteorological Organisation). For each kg CO2’s equivalent emitted, the Earth’s temperature rises 1.64x10- 13oC each year. This increase is linked to the damage factor, causing DALY's1 potentiated among other factors by cardiovascular diseases, diarrhoea, malnutrition, malaria and natural disasters (Figure 1).
There are more than 1.3 billion of people with lack access to electricity (more than a fifth of world’s population). A lack of energy services dramatically undermines health, limits education opportunities and reduces family’s potential to rise up our poverty. To cover the energy shortage, it is necessary to install at least 11GJ/personx1.3 billion people at worldwide level. This worsens the human and ecosystem damage, since it would increase 22% the amount of kg CO2 eq., kg CFC-11 eq., ozone depletion and kg PM10 eq. and all the increase of all these parameters will affect chronic mortalities, acute respiratory problems and cardiovascular problems.
Furthermore, according to a 2016 European Commission’s study, “ at EU 28 level, 8%(41millions) of survey respondents answered that they regularly had to pay a fee for a late payment of their electricity bill and 3% (15 millions) reported that their electricity consumption had been restricted due to non-payment of their bills.

Objective: Improve solar energy
IMPACT STUDY HELP US TO KNOW WHERE ARE THE BEST PLACES TO USE PROTON TECHNOLOGY AND GET ENERGY DESPITE ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS
The following map shows the result of our study: Each country has a number, this number is the efficiency [%] improved vs. conventional solar modules.
