La cambra de Comerç de Barcelona, va crear un fons de solidaritat COVID, per a repartir ajudes a les iniciatives d'empreses o institucions Catalanes destinades a combatre la pandèmia.  Proton New Energy Future ha percebut la quantia de 9.513€. Amb els fons, l’empresa podrà dur a terme un projecte consistent en la implantació d’un mòdul de distribució intel·ligent (MDI) d’aire que s’annexa a respiradors convencionals, i el qual permetrà proveir a dues persones alhora amb un sol respirador. Així doncs, el projecte permetria augmentar la capacitat de les unitats de cures intensiva i millorar l’atenció mèdica.

The company Proton New Energy and the Consorci Sanitari de Terrassa CST (Health Consortium of Terrassa), with the support of Leitat Technological Center, have developed an intelligent distribution module that, interspersed between the respirator and the patient's tube system, allows to multiply the ventilation capacity of approved respirators, adjusting the respiratory needs of each patient. The purpose of the Intelligent Distribution Module (IDM) is to increase ventilation capacity easily and safely, optimizing the use of existing respirators in hospitals and not just for use in high-demand situations. The small size and low weight of IDM allow the medical care capacity of hospitals and / or temporary Intensive Care Units to be quickly doubled during the current pandemic period caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.  The device is equipped with a method of visual and graphic control of operation, and manual valves that make it possible to regulate the air received by each of the patients connected to the IDM to ensure that the values are, at all times, within the range previously adjusted by health personnel.
